Six months into product sales, Laura Schrader, the CEO of 3D Biomatrix,
a 2010 U-M start-up, is encouraged. "Sales are increasing in both pharmaceutical and academic research labs," says Schrader, "and we
are well on our way to meeting our projections."
The founding team knew they had a superior product going in - simple to use cell culture well plates and scaffolds for the life sciences research community that better mimicked the physiology of cells and tumors in the human body - but they didn't know how a new method would be received by the industry. "We knew we had a superior product," says Schrader.
