

ANN ARBOR, Mich.
The University of Michigan's technology transfer efforts continued to expand during fiscal year 2006, recording 288 new invention disclosures, nine business startups, and 97 license agreements - a 13 percent increase over last year.
The University's U.S. Patent applications rose slightly to 136, and the number of patents issued held steady at 79.
The University received $20.4 million in revenues from licensing royalties and the sale of equity during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2006, up 22 percent from $16.7 million the previous year.
